Namibia’s abundant sunshine makes solar energy one of the fastest-growing industries in the country. This hands-on training program equips students with the skills to install, maintain, and repair solar power systems, helping to bridge the gap in renewable energy expertise. With the government and private sector increasingly investing in off-grid and hybrid solar solutions, this course prepares trainees for employment and self-employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

The training of these qualifications is fully funded by NTA, through the TVET Levy, under Key priority 35%

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Programme, a candidate must have:

  • At least a grade 10/11 certificate with 14 Points plus an E in English, Mathematics, and Science.
  • Or Pass an Aptitude Test
  • Applicants should be 16 and above

Prospective candidate’s selection will be an objective and a transparent process. Successful applicants will have an equal chance to apply for a study loan at the NSFAF. After completion of level two external assessments, all trainees who are found competent in level two (2) are attached in the industry for a Job attachment.

  • Show Off Your Smarts – Submit certified copies of your highest qualification.
  • Bonus Points! – If you took pre-vocational subjects in school, that’s a big plus!
  • Everyone is Welcome – We encourage applications from marginalized and disadvantaged groups because education is for all!

Accommodation & Meal Details

We offer affordable on-campus accommodation and meals for students who need a place to stay while completing their training.

Monthly Accommodation Fees: N$1,500 per person

Monthly Meals Fee: N$4500.00 per person

Please Note: Meals are not served on weekends, so students should make their meal arrangements for Saturdays and Sundays.
